How does geotagging work in Breadcrumbs?
There are two ways photos are geotagged within Breadcrumbs.
- Some cameras and many smartphones contain GPS chips which automatically record exactly where you took you photo. If your photo contains location information, Breadcrumbs detects this and places the photo exactly where you took it on the map.
- If there is no location information on the map, the next thing Breadcrumbs does is use the timestamp on the photo (all photos have a timestamp). We compare this timestamp to the timestamps on the GPS track and place the photo at the correct place on the track.
