Description
A fantastic hike with varied scenery, from the mixed cove forests with cascading streams, to gnarled northern hardwoods, to the spruce-fir forests near the summit. Some sections are smooth and winding, while nearer the top, the trail becomes rocky and steeper. A large section of trail was laid by master trail builders out of enormous boulders - a spectacle on its own. Great way to reach the summit - and highest point - of Grandfather Mountain, Calloway Peak.
